THE ESSENTIAL FASHION ACCESSORY

In recent years the pashmina shawl has been fashionable the world over for its luxurious rarity, its incomparable softness, warmth and durability. Apart from the divine colours available in the 2 ply fringed style for all seasons both cool and warm, and the 3ply fox fur trimmed for colder seasons, our pashminas are extremely versatile.

Take a 2-ply wrap and dress up something plain as a splash of colour or another layer. Wear it as a single layer around the shoulders during the day and night and it will keep you comfortable. Doubled in a lariat style around the neck your pashmina will provide incredible warmth when required. Light enough to roll up and carry in a handbag - it’s like taking a jacket with you wherever you go.

The pashmina story

“Pashmina” is the Persian word for wool and is know as cashmere from the old spelling for Kashmir. This fine wool comes from the undercoat of Himalayan mountain goats, raised by semi-nomadic herders. It yields 3-8 ounces of fibre per year. The Tibetan Plateau provides the ideal environment for pashmina growth. The fibre is exceptionally absorbent, and it dyes very easily and deeply.

Care for your Pashmina.

Pashmina gets softer with frequent use. Cleaning the pashmina is easy. Although dry-cleaning is acceptable; the chemicals use will affect it in the long run – just like all fine wool. We recommend washing in cold or warm water with mild natural soap or shampoo. Rinse until water runs clear and then drip dry only, away from direct sunlight. Do NOT wring or twist. It needs pressing, iron over a damp cloth.
